Full Gospel Church - Makerere Transforms Into a Cell - Based Church

Beginning this month of July, we are moving from a church-running cells church to a cell-based church. Cells cease to be a ministry along other ministries but a mega channel for other ministries, all weekly programs at church such as mid week and Friday worship services shall cease, and every activity shall consequently be done from our homes. Cell - Based Church Ok. But, Is There Any Biblical Evidence?

In the Old Testament, God’s chosen nation of Israel was structured and organized on the principle of cells e.g there were 12 tribes, clans, families and households. Whenever God wanted to do something among his people, He would use the smallest units. For example the first Passover meal and eventual departure from Egypt was organized at household (cell) level; Exodus 12:1-4. Other examples are; Joshua 7:14-18.

In the New Testament, the 5000-people congregation fed by Jesus was divided into smaller units (Mark 6:35-40), the 72 disciples who went to evangelize in Luke 10:1 were deployed in small groups – two by two, and Jesus ministered to small groups whenever he moved from house to house e.g Martha and Mary (Luke 10:38), the prominent Pharisee’s house (Luke 14:1-14), etc.....
